For six years, the music department at Moanalua High School in Honolulu, Hawaii, has partnered with New Hope Christian Fellowship to raise more than $200,000 through “The Gift of Hope” Annual Charity Concert.
This year, ticket sales were expected to raise at least $30,000 for Mercy Ships, which uses hospital ships to deliver medical care to developing countries where access to adequate health care is limited or nonexistent.

Bah, Humbug! Nativity Scenes and Christmas Under Attack
IN THE PUBLIC ARENA
Looks like Freedom From Religion (FFRF) thinks it has this year’s hottest stocking stuffer…a threatening demand letter. Attacking Nativity scenes, Christmas trees, student plays and concerts – there is no limit to what this atheist group will do to completely remove “Christ” from Christmas.
The Wisconsin-based organization seems to be pulling out all the stops this holiday season, blanketing the country with intimidating letters that misinform city officials about their legal rights. This year, they have been especially unrelenting in their attacks on one of the most popular, beloved Christmas symbols – the Nativity scene.

When You Stand, We Can Win
IN THE PUBLIC ARENA
Recently, we documented more than 600 cases of hostility toward religion in America. In just the past few weeks, as Christmas draws near, we are seeing radical groups ramp up their efforts to take away your First Amendment right to freely express your faith.
The future of religious freedom is in jeopardy, but there is much hope. Because when we stand, we can win.

Jesus Replaced With Santa, Frosty the Snowman
IN THE SCHOOL
For years, Cottondale Elementary School’s Christmas display included a Nativity scene, in addition to other popular symbols, including Santa and Rudolph. This year, however, the Nativity sits in a school storage closet because of concerns over so-called “separation of church and state.”

Atheist Group Attacks Another Public Christmas Display
IN THE PUBLIC SQUARE
The San Angelo Police Department of San Angelo, Texas, is
the newest target of the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s (FFRF) aggressive
efforts to systematically remove faith from public view.
The department received a threatening demand letter from
FFRF, requesting that it remove an illuminated cross from atop the police
station.
