This week, Liberty Institute President & CEO Kelly Shackelford is speaking on religious freedom at the U.S. Air Force Academy as part of the Air Force’s 21st Annual National Character & Leadership Symposium.
The symposium brings together distinguished scholars, military leaders, corporate executives, athletes and others to share inspiring stories with attendees and enhance understanding of “the importance and challenges of sound moral character and leadership.”
The National Character & Leadership Symposium inspires leaders “to see themselves and their world differently, to see opportunities for character and leadership development, to emerge from being great people to being great leaders whose decisions and actions will shape a better future.”
This event comes on the heels of Shackelford’s trip last month to the U.S. Naval Academy where he spoke to senior cadets and midshipmen at the Academy’s 2014 Leadership Conference.
Both of these events are important to Liberty Institute, as we are at the forefront of legal battles involving religious liberty in the armed forces.
Liberty Institute’s action in this influential area has included the recent creation of our Armed Forces Religious Freedom Project, headed by Liberty Institute Senior Counsel and Director of Military Affairs Michael Berry, who is also in attendance at the symposium.
YOU CAN HELP
Please continue to pray for Liberty Institute as we roll out our Armed Forces Religious Liberty Project, which will enable us to defend more men and women of faith in the military.
We also need your continued financial support. We have a 99% win rate only because of help from friends like you. Please, consider a generous gift today to help launch this crucial project and protect the freedom of those who bravely fight everyday for ours.
If our service men and women can lose their religious liberty, then all Americans are at grave risk.
